On Monday December 5, 2016 surrounded by close family and friends, Yolanda Renee' Hill passed from this earth at University of Michigan Hospital. She was born on January 7, 1961 to the late James Sr. and Martha Jackson in Monroe Michigan. Yolanda was the sixth of eleven children. She attended Milan Area Schools. She confessed to Christ at an early age. On August 11, 1979 she married Ira Joe Hill Sr. in a union of love. They were married for 37 years. She enjoyed cooking, dancing, traveling, singing, and playing cards.
She leaves to cherish her husband, Ira Joe Hill Sr. of Inkster, MI, six daughters, Niya Jackson of Inkster, MI, Sharonda Hill of Ypsilanti, MI, Stephanie Hill, Jasmine Hill, Shanecka Hill all of Inkster, MI, Kayla Hill of Atlanta, GA, one son, Marcus Hill of Inkster, MI, 15 grandchildren, her mother, Martha (Ware) Jackson of Milan, MI, five sisters, Peggy Stines of Milan, Priscilla Gibson, Paulette Smith all of Ypsilanti, MI, Michele (Wayne) Murphy of Dearborn Heights, MI, Tracy Jackson of Milan, MI, two brothers, Andrew Jackson of Monroe, MI, Mark (Kesha) Jackson of Ypsilanti, MI, one great aunt, Sadie Hamet, one great uncle, Ray Pope, three godchildren, Chayela Jackson, Terrance Wheatherspoon, Cordaryl Massey, two sister in laws, Aaron and Betty Hill, two best friends, Susie Pillar, Freddie Couch, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Turner Jackson Sr., her son Ira Joe Hill Jr., one brother, James Turner Jackson Jr., two sisters, Lois and Janet Jackson, maternal and paternal grandparents, several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A Homegoing service will be held at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday, December 17th where family will receive friends (family hour) from 10am until time of the funeral at 11:00am, with Pastor JB Cummings officiating.
