JOHN EDWARD BARRY

May 27, 1949 ~ August 23, 2021

John Edward Barry was born on May 27, 1949, in Fall Rivers, Massachusetts to John Brett and Rose May Barry. He was preceded in death by his parents.

John was a proud Veteran of the United States Marine Corps and was very proud to have served in Vietnam. He received several badges and medals during his service, including the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with one star and the Vietnam Campaign with device.

John worked for many years as a US Postal Service mail carrier. He was the former commander of the Pryor DAV and was also a member of the American Legion and VFW. John lived most of his life in the Pryor, Oklahoma area moving to Hugo over four years ago. He was a member of the Shoals Baptist Church. John enjoyed fishing and loved taking care of his girls. John will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

John is survived by his wife, Teresa "Terry" Barry; sons John Phillip Barry and wife Annette of Weeki Wachee, FL, Larry Barry and wife Heather of Salina, OK; daughter, Tara Jean Barry of Hugo, OK;

Grandchildren, Madalyn Clere, Scarlett Clere, Nate Barry, Nicky Barry, Sam Barry, Allison Barry, Alex Mabee, Cherish Barry Cassi, Barry and Trevor Barry;

Brother, Larry Allen and wife Linda of Sapulpa, OK; sisters, Ellen Williams of Claremore, OK and Rose Ann Trundle and husband Jim of Pryor, OK along with a host of other family friends and loved ones.
