Bentonville, Arkansas - Martin H. Wade, 92, of Bentonville, passed away peacefully at home on 8/8/2021. Born in Mt. Vernon, IN to Kelley and Mary (Barnett) Wade. The family moved to Oklahoma when he was young, and graduated from McAlester high school. After military service in the Army in Korea, he returned to receive a bachelor's degree from WTSU in Canyon, TX. He was a history teacher and high school baseball and football coach in Eunice, NM winning numerous state championships, and is enshrined in the NM baseball Hall of Fame. Deciding to specialize in football, the family moved to Kirtland and Farmington, NM, and Nampa, ID. A few years after retiring, he decided to coach and teach at McDonald County, MO
Touching thousands of lives, his core principles were love, honor, integrity, and perseverance. He was a gentle and loving soul. Through his strength and caring, he proved to his former players that he was indeed "tougher than a boot"
Martin is survived by Jacqueline (Thomas), his spouse of 68 years. Son Kelley and wife Laura Anne, and their children and grandchildren; Son Mitch and wife Kathi, and grandchildren Bryan and Maggie.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Circle of Life Hospice or St. Theodores Episcopal Church.
