He is survived by his wife, Tammy; son, Joe; and daughters, Sarah (Jeremy) Cornett, Anna (Curt) Smith, and Hope (Tony) Seibert. He is also survived by his brother, Mike; sister, Diane (Steve) Comstock; twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary, and brother, David.
Ken was an avid carpenter and worked in construction for 30 years. He loved to help friends and family with remodeling.
He served in the military during the Vietnam era with military honors. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Air Medal, and Bronze Star.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday August 31st from 9:30 am until 11:30 am at Grandview Funeral Home 3211 Hubbell Ave.
The funeral service will be 11:30 am Tuesday August 31st at the funeral home with burial to follow at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery Van Meter, IA.
