Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 31st at First United Methodist Church in Wichita Falls, with the Dr. John McLarty and Rev. Paul Goodrich officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.
The daughter of Eugene and Laverne (Newell) Fincher, Margaret was born on September 29th in Trinidad, Texas. The family moved to Wichita Falls where her father was in education and her mother was a homemaker. Margaret attended Ben Franklin Elementary School, Zundy Jr. High, and Wichita Falls High School where she graduated in 1956. She attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock and was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta before graduating in 1960 with a Bachelor of Science in Education. She later earned a Master of Education with Mid-Management Administration and Educational Diagnostician.
Margaret married John Mitchell, of Wichita Falls, in 1961. In the years to follow, he practiced dentistry and she spent her days as a wife, mother, and educator.
Margaret's greatest loves were her family and life-long friends. She was a member and leader of the Junior League, Bible Study Fellowship, Philanthropic Educational Organization, Cotillion, and First United Methodist Church where she joyously sang in the choir. Margaret loved tennis, card games, and snow skiing. Always acting as a cheerleader for her children, she lived a rich life as a mother, wife, and friend to many.
Along with her parents, Margaret is preceded in death by in-laws Dr. Ronald Mitchell and wife Margaret of Wichita Falls, her husband of 56 years, John, brother-in-law Travis Reagan of Wichita Falls, and son-in-law Todd Billeiter of Kerrville.
She is survived by her three children, Mark Mitchell and wife Deidre of Frisco; Amy Billeiter of Kerrville; Beth Lutz and husband Steve of Kerrville; sister-in-law Susan Mitchell Reagan of Wichita Falls; grandchildren Sean and Ryan Mitchell, Brock Billeiter, Hannah Watson, Robert Lutz and Matt Nolte; cousins Connie Jurica and Kay Lopez; and nieces Meg Reagan Campbell and Emily Reagan.
