Lorraine Evanell Taylor, 91, formerly of Minot died at her daughter's home in Hood River, Oregon , on August 21, 2021. Evanell was born on October 29, 1929 in Granville, North Dakota to Otto and Anna Fosness Peterson. She attended high school in Bantry and later attended business colleges in Wahpeton and Minot. She married Walter James Taylor at the Bantry Methodist Church on June 16, 1952. They had a cattle ranch in the Bantry area while maintaining a home in Minot. While Mr. Taylor worked at the Minot Air Force Base, Evanell worked in the Register of Deeds office in McHenry and Ward Counties, and retired to Minot in the early 1980's. Evanell joined the many trips they took as a family – traveling around the United States. She will be remembered as a puzzle wizard in her spare time. In 2015 she moved to Oregon to live with her daughter, LuAnn.
Mrs. Taylor is survived by her children LuAnn and her husband Bernard Trotebas; and Bryan Taylor – Minot. She also leaves 2 brothers, Merle – Norwich, North Dakota and LaVerne – Minnesota.
She was preceded in death by her parents ,her husband, Walter on April 26, 2004, a sister, Orline Badke, and a brother, Duane.
Funeral services will be held at the Tunbridge Norwegian Evangelical Lutheran Church at Tunbridge – 5 miles west of Rugby on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. Following the service she will be buried at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Minot, next to her husband. Visitation will be held at the Niewoehner Funeral Home in Rugby on Friday from 5-7 PM and also at the church after 10 AM on Saturday.
