SANDRA'S OBITUARY
Sandra Darby Clark, 75, of Pampa, passed away on August 25, 2021 in Pampa.

Services will be 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Byron Williamson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be 1:00 PM on Monday, August 30, 2021 at Waco Memorial Park in Waco. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.

Sandra was born on July 5, 1946 to William Lanford and Mary Etta Darby in Pasadena, Texas. She grew up in Pasadena and became a Christian at an early age. Her family were members of the First Baptist Church, South Houston. Sandra graduated from South Houston High School in May of 1964. She then graduated from the University of Houston in the summer of 1968 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Education. In the fall of 1968, she began teaching business courses at Sam Rayburn High School for Pasadena Independent School District.

Sandra married Kenneth Clark on June 6, 1970. While both Sandra and Kenneth continued teaching, they would spend the next three summers in Las Vegas, New Mexico, where Kenneth completed his master's degree from New Mexico Highlands University. During that time, they would spend the weekends enjoying the scenery and outdoors in northern New Mexico and Colorado.

In 1972, they moved to Deer Park, Texas, where they would live for forty-two years. On December 1, 1976, Ryan Edward Clark, their only son, was born. Sandra resigned from teaching for several years but finished her teaching career at Pomeroy Elementary and the Pasadena School District Guidance Center. Sandra was a member of the Zeta Omega Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society for Women Educators. She fully retired from teaching in May of 2005.

While living in Deer Park, Sandra and Kenneth were members of the Thomas Avenue Baptist Church for ten years, where Sandra was an active working in the deaf ministry. In 1981, Sandra and Kenneth became members of the First Baptist Church in Pasadena. After Kenneth retired in 2013, they moved to Paris, Texas and became members of the East Paris Baptist Church, where their son Ryan was the worship pastor. In October of 2017, Sandra and Kenneth moved to Pampa and joined First Baptist Church, where their son is currently the worship pastor.

Sandra was preceded in death by her mom and dad, and brother, Lanny Darby.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Clark; son, Ryan Clark and his wife, Krista; three grandchildren, Chelsea, Melody, and Miles; and numerous extended family members and friends.

Memorials may be made the First Baptist Church, Nehemiah Fund, 203 N West St, Pampa, Texas, 79065.
