On Monday, August 23, 2021, William "Bill" Terry of Tarboro, NC, loving husband and father of five children, left us to be in his eternal home at the age of 77. Bill was born in Scotland Neck, NC on May 7, 1944.

Raised in Cofield, NC, after graduating high school, he was drafted in U.S. Army and became a sergeant and served during the Vietnam War. He had a lifelong career of working for the railroad. He enjoyed fishing in his leisure. He was known for his vast intelligence, his baritone voice, and his kind and compassionate spirit of helping others.

Bill was preceded in death by his father, Charlie, and his mother, Edna, his brothers Roger and Simon, and his son, Johnny. He is survived by his wife Carol, his sisters, Dot, Margie, and Edith, and his four children, Bobby, Tammy, Billy, and Chrystal, along with all of their spouses, several cousins, nieces, and a nephews. Furthermore, he is survived by his grandchildren, Jessica, Carson, Samantha, Garry, Casey, Shane, Daniel, Joshua, Antonio, Kevin, Sean, Sophia, Brandon, Joseph, Briahna, and Lewis. As well as, his 10 great-grandchildren.

The visitation service will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at the Carlisle Funereal Home, Inc. on 701 Hospital Drive, Tarboro, NC at 10 o'clock a.m. After the visitation, there will be a graveside service held at Edgecombe Memorial Park at 11 o'clock a.m. Condolences and flowers may be sent to Carlisle Funereal Home.
