POLLARD, Bruce A.
1942 - 2006

Born Toronto, Ontario, Canada, June 1942, to Margerite Pollard and Arthur Pollard. Bruce passed away Nov. 22, 2006, in Sacramento, Ca, of Cancer.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Eldora (Glenn) Pollard, and sons Michael and Collin, daughters-in-law Jurhee and Amy, and grandchildren Christopher and Melissa all of Sacramento, his brother Allan Pollard, with his two sons David and Mark.

Bruce lived in Canada for his first 11 years then moved to Downey, Ca, in the Los Angeles area. After high school he joined the Air Force and was discharged from McClellan AFB four years later. He served as an airborne radar operator aboard a RC121 Super Constellation. In July 1966 he joined the Sacramento City Police Department. At the same time he attended Sacramento City College and Sacramento State University and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice in January 1975. Bruce worked the patrol division for 3 years, traffic division for 3 years, and 24 years as a Crime Scene Investigator (CSI). He received the Sacramento Police Department's Distinguished Service Award for dedicated service and performance, shortly before retirement in October 1996. He was a member of the Sacramento Police Officers Association and served as Secretary for 8 years. He was also a member of the Sacramento Veterans Police Officers Association.

After retirement, he started his own business, AAA Investigations. He also worked for FEMA, Home Depot, and was a manager at Cal State Patrol Security Services. His hobbies included customizing his Harley Davidson motorcycles, participating on numerous motorcycle runs, stamp collecting, gardening, helping both of his sons with house repairs, and remodeling his own house.

Bruce will be greatly missed by his family, friends and neighbors.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 1, 2006 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church located at 1333 58th Street, Sacramento. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society.
