Jim went to be with the Lord on August 24, 2021. Visitation from 1-8 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday, August 27, at Smith Mortuary, Mulvane. Funeral service is 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 28, at Smith Family Mortuary. Jim was born April 11, 1937, in Wichita, KS, to his parents Francis and Lucile (MacKay) Walton. He married the love of his life, Carol Fae, on December 8, 1962, and through the years he spoiled his wife, children, and grandchildren any chance he could get. He worked at Boeing for 37 years to fund his free time and love of hunting, fishing, playing cards, dragging grandkids around Table Rock Lake behind his boat, and John Wayne movies. Most importantly, Jim instilled a love for God in his children and grandchildren, and that legacy lives on today. He is survived by children, Lance and Lori Walton, Jeffrey and Damona Powell; grandchildren, Aaron and Sarah (Walton) Ott, Leah, Nathan, Luke, Anna, and Caleb Walton and Jeff and Damona's children. Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, to his church, Victory Fellowship, at 326 E. School St, Rose Hill, KS 67133. www.SmithFamilyMortuaries.com
