Obituary for William "Wild Bill" H. Mann, Jr.
WILLIAM "WILD BILL" MANN, JR.

LIMA OHIO – William "Wild Bill" Mann, Jr, 85, passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima, Ohio after a brief battle with Covid.

He was born in Dante, Virginia; son of the late William H., Sr. and Nannie Osborne Mann. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Wilma Jean Dyer Mann, who passed away in March, 2021. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby Mann and John Mann. Bill loved spending time with his children and the real twinkle in his eyes, his grandchildren.

After Bill's honorable discharge from the Air Force, Mr. Henry Ford needed Bill and a few hundred friends to build him a new engine plant in Lima. On completion, Mr. Ford then needed Bill to help build a few new engines, which he happily obliged for the next 35 years. Somehow along the way, Bill found time to own a Sohio Gas Station and was commander-in-chief of Uptown Antiques for 30 years.

He is survived by two sons; David A. Mann and wife, Connie and William D. Mann and wife, Cybill; five grandchildren, Emily Harmon and husband, Austin, Linsey Schneider and husband, Kevin, McKenzie Mann, William Joseph Mann, and Montana Gillette; two great grandchildren, Connor Hanthorn and Eleanor Jean Harmon; two brothers, Jack Mann and wife, Shirley and Larry Mann and wife, Darlene; two sisters, Julia Mann Johnson and husband, Giles, and Joy Mann Powers and David Fitzgerald; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral Services for William "Wild Bill" Mann, Jr. will be conducted at 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 26, 2021, at Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel in Castlewood, Virginia with Rev. Woody Scott officiating. Committal Services and Interment will be conducted on August 27, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Temple Hill Memorial Park in Castlewood, Virginia. Family and Friends will meet at the Castlewood Funeral Home on Friday and go in procession to the cemetery leaving at 10:30 a.m. Military Rites will be conducted by the United States Air Force Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Austin Harmon, Kevin Schneider, Jake Neuenschwander, David Fitzgerald, Michael Powers, Gary Powers, and William J. Mann. Honorary Pallbearer will be Bill Carter.
