Eric Charles Scott Sr. was born in Winslow, Arizona on January 24,1965 to the union of Margie McGuire and the late Edward Charles Scott.
He departed this earthly life on August 21, 2021 at UMC New Orleans in New Orleans, Louisiana from complications of a car accident on June 29, 2021.
Eric attended public schools in Newton, Texas and Lawrence, Kansas. He was a graduate of the class of 1983. Eric was a jack-of-all-trades and very skilled. He was passionate about cement work and was an excellent concrete finisher. Eric joined the Word of Faith Christian Center in 2006. He was always willing to serve in whatever capacity needed; such as collecting offerings or working the sound room.
He loved to be around people and have a good time. Eric loved to listen to music, fish, shoot pool, play basketball, play dominoes, cook, and travel. Eric spent much of his time with his shadow, grandson Kyrie Scott.
Eric Scott Sr. is preceded in death by his daughter Tatiana Scott, his son Allen Toshavik, and his father Edward Scott.
He leaves to cherish his memories his devoted, loving wife Amy Hanks-Scott, his mother Margie McGuire, four sons, Eric Scott Jr., Edrick Scott, Chauncey Scott and Keenen Myers. Two daughters Markita Steel and Destiny Mansfield. Eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Three sisters, Denese Scott, Nachelle Scott and Shelby Ephriam, and one brother Paul Scott. He also reared other bonus children and god children, nieces, and nephews, and had a love for them all.
