Our beloved patriarch, Daniel Gust Robbins, 84, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday August 24, 2021 at Valley View Rehabilitation Center in Madison, Alabama. Mr. Robbins was born in Minnesota on March 11, 1937, son to Dale and Ruby Robbins. He served honorably in the United States Army from 1963-1983 and served bravely in the Vietnam War. He retired from Redstone Arsenal where he was a Missile Defense Specialist.
He is survived by the love of his life, Sandra Regina Robbins, of New Hope, AL. His legacy lives on with his 2 daughters, Dana Marie Thornton (Wayne) and Sheri Lynn Greene. His 5 grandchildren, Mason T. Thornton, Madison E. Thornton, Britni N. Trivett, Alexandria L. Dupree (John Michael), Ashley N. Westbrook and 4 great grandchildren; Jayce M. Dupree, Ayden Dupree, Landon Wooton and Maddox Powell.
Arrangements are under the direction of Berryhill Funeral Home in Huntsville Alabama. The visitation will be on Thursday August 26,2021 at 9:30 a.m., and immediately following at 11:00 a.m. will be the funeral service. There will not be a precession or graveside Service. Honorary pallbearers are as follows; Len Laseter, Wayne Thornton, Mason Thornton, Lloyd Pinkerton, John Michael Dupree, and Monty Higgenbotham.
On Friday, August, 27, his immediate family will be following him to Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, Alabama, where he will be honored for his exemplary service in the United States Army. He will be laid to rest there.
