Bobby Baker, 78 years of age, of Grundy, VA, passed away Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at his home with his loving family by his side after a short battle with cancer. Born June 17, 1943 in Raysal, WV, he was the son of the late Robert Baker and Maude Watson Baker.
Bobby was a family man who loved his grandchildren. He loved to travel with his wife Patty and family and was especially fond of cruising. He loved the lord and reading his Bible, was of the Pentecostal faith, and attended Atwell United Church of God. He was a handyman and could fix about anything "A Jack of all trades".
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Ruby Hall; brothers Ed Baker, Cowan Baker, Harold Baker, and Daris Baker.
Survivors include his loving wife of forty-one years Patty Sliger Baker of Grundy, VA; daughter Sherry Honaker and son-in-law Ricky Honaker of Grundy, VA; son David Baker and wife Ann of Lebanon, VA; sister Yvonne Hamilton of Lindside, WV; brothers Gerald Baker and wife Janie of Bluefield, WV, Michale Baker and wife Debbie of Lindside, WV;
He is also survived by his grandchildren David Baker and wife Kristen of Kershaw, SC, Victoria Keene and Husband Jason of Grundy, VA, Brittani Kerns and husband Phil of Winchester, VA, Shelia Brown and husband Blake of Grundy, VA, Kayla Honaker of Grundy, VA, Adrianna Baker of Saratoga, WY; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral service for Bobby Baker will be held at the Atwell United Church of God, Piney Ridge Road, Atwell, WV Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 12:00 noon with Brother David Barnett and Brother Roger Hale Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Deskins Cemetery, Piney Ridge Road, Atwell, WV.
Active Pallbearers will be nephews and friends.
