William Lawrence Montgomery, 91, was promoted to his heavenly home on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at Providence Retirement Home. He served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion Post 204. Lawrence was Owner/Operator of Montgomery Insurance for 30 plus years. As a member of the Sellersburg Church of Christ, he served as Treasurer, Deacon and Elder for 40 years. He also served on Board of Realtors and Maple Manor Christian Home Adult Division. Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Lawrence and Ora Addie, sister, Joyce Smith, step-mother, Bernice Montgomery and two nephews. Surviving are his loving wife of 67 years, Pauline Montgomery, daughter, Donna Vissing-Pate and her husband Glenn Pate, son, Dan (Kathy) Montgomery, sisters, Dorothy (Eddie) Miller, Phyllis (Earl) Mullins, Pam (Ronald) Hickman, grandchildren, Ashley Vissing, Kelsey Thornbury, Logan Meadows, great-grandchildren, Emmett, Parker, Tripp and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11AM Monday at Sellersburg Church of Christ with burial to follow at Sellersburg Cemetery.
