Donald (Don, also fondly known as "Monk") Montgomery of Lady Lake, Florida passed away Monday, July 26th,2021.

Preceded in death by Dons parents Monty and Kitty Montgomery of Greensboro, North Carolina. Dons wife Rochelle Montgomery also preceded Don in death in 2016 and Don was step-father to Rochelle's son Ty.

Don had many cousins, and close friends that will miss him and his friendship dearly. Don's life long career was in the United States Air Force, mainly as a C-5 loadmaster supervisor, and was a Viet Nam Veteran. He flew many missions around the world in his job for the Air Force and dutifully served his country in this capacity.

Don shared many stories of his career in the military with family and friends usually while hosting his frequent extensive Gourmet barbeques, Don loved to cook for family and friends.

He also enjoyed woodworking, rescuing dogs, and visiting with friends. He had a wonderful sense of humor and always had a wave and smile for everyone he met. He spent many days at the beach with his loving wife Rochelle, they enjoyed their time together walking along the water. He will be missed dearly.

Don has requested that in lieu of flowers, any donations in his name can be made to St. Jude's Children's hospital.

Inurnment will take place at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell Florida.
