Emily was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 45 years, Ralph L. Myers. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her sister, Lois Moul and brother, David Spangler. She is survived by brothers in law Richard McCune and Frank H. Walther, nieces; Diane Folkenroth, Carolyn Myers-Muller, Peggy Walther, nephews; Judson, Steven, and Douglas Spangler, Frank R. Walther, Thomas Walther as well as numerous great nieces and great nephews.
Emily was a graduate of West York High School class of '55. She began her profession in banking as a clerical worker, hired in 1956 by the York Bank and Trust Co. and remained employed there throughout her career, retiring as a Vice President and Director of Human Resources in 1995.
As a lifelong member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church of York, Emily was a member of their Women's Society and served on numerous committees in addition to teaching Sunday School. Emily was a devout Christian and dedicated her life to helping others through her volunteer work for countless organizations and charities in the York area.
A funeral service to celebrate Emily's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 1502 4th Ave., York. A viewing will be held from 1:30 to 2:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Wrightsville.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Emily's memory may be made to St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 1502 4th Ave., York, PA 17403 or Memorial White Rose Hospice, 1412 6th Ave., York, PA 17403. Those attending are asked to wear masks and follow social distancing guidelines.
