Obituary: News and Citizen Newspaper, Morrisville, Vermont, October 4, 1905

Darius F. Felcher, aged 81 years, a highly esteemed resident of this town, died Sunday afternoon, after a lingering and painful illness. He was a son of the late Deacon Felcher and was born in Morristown, on the farm now known as the New York Farm. When a youth he moved here and has ever since lived in this town. In 1866 he married Almira Wiswell, a daughter of Jonas Wiswell, and for a number of years resided on the V. D. Fitch farm. For upwards of forty-five years he has lived on the farm where he died, situated on the North Hyde Park road, about two and one-half miles from this village. He is survived by his wife and three children, Darius J. of this town, Mrs. Sarah Bartlett of Island Pond, and Mrs. Lilla Noble of Hardwick. Mr. Felcher gave close attention to his farm duties and although never a holder of town office, took a deep interest in town affairs and always cast his vote for what he believed to be for the best interests of his town. He was a good townsman and held in high regard by all. The funeral was held from his late home Tuesday afternoon, Rev. Wm. Hamlin officiating. The burial was in the village cemetery.

Note: Marriage date of 1866 in newspaper obituary is incorrect. Vermont vital records list it as 1856.
