Tom Chambers, age 86 of Crossville passed away Monday, August 23, 2021 at Marshall Medical Center South.
Tom served his country as part of the United States Army in Korea. After he returned, he opened a shop and was well known for his diverse abilities, his ingenuity and his dedication to excellence in all his work. A devoted husband of 56 years and beloved father of two, his absolute joy was the five young people who call him "Granddaddy". He served Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church as deacon, Sunday School teacher, superintendent, song leader and singing chairman over the years.
There will be a graveside service at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his family and friends. There will be no visitation.
He is survived by his daughter; Betty Ann Holcomb (David), son; Jimmy Chambers (Marcie), grandchildren; Aaron and Rachel Holcomb, Hannah, Hunter and Tyler Chambers, brothers; David Chambers (Sarah) and Glenn Chambers, sister, Sandy Chambers and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his wife; Clara Chambers, sisters; Jean Andrews, Gwinell Bowling, Marie Wheeler and Hellen Marshall, brother; Gerald Chambers and parents J.W. and Lutelia Chambers.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to Mt. Pleasant Cemetery Fund. Donations may be made in care of Rodney Driskill, 1529 County Road 537 Crossville, AL 35962
