Betty was united in marriage to Harlan Pearson on April 22, 1951 at the Attica Methodist Church. They were blessed with three children, Cindy, Robbie, and Duane. They raised their family in the Pershing and Bussey areas, and enjoyed 65 years of marriage before Harlan's passing on July 9, 2016.

Betty was employed at the Marion County Courthouse in the Auditor Office, Recorder Office, and Treasurer Office until her retirement. She was an active member of the Zion United Methodist Church and played the organ and piano for over 20 years and was still playing in July, 2021. Betty enjoyed playing softball and volleyball in her younger years. She also loved to play cards, dancing, and going on bus trips. Her greatest joy was family, and she especially loved attending the sports and activities of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
