Mary Lorena Bolton, 85 years old, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 18, 2021.

A visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at Mount Olivet Funeral Home. A private burial will follow for family members only at a later date.

Mary entered the world on April 2, 1936, welcomed by her father, Calvin and mother, Laura. She was raised with her three siblings, Calvin Jr., Joan, and Donna in Winchester Bay, Oregon. Mary met the father of her future children, and they moved to New Orleans, Louisiana, where Mary gave birth to Debra, Jerry, Vivian, and Jessie. In the 1960s, the family moved to Texas and settled down to call it home. Over the years, Mary was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Mary was a talented artist and had a passion for being creative. She won many ribbons and awards for her paintings and even has two paintings on display in a museum in Oakland, Oregon. She also loved gardening, making beaded jewelry, and crocheting. Mary loved her dogs with all her heart, and they went everywhere with her. She was always on the go and headed "off to the jungle to eat teddy bears", as she would put it.

Her family and friends describe Mary as "one in a million." So special and admired by many, Mary was quite the lady and will truly will be missed by her family. They will carry her memory in their hearts forever.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin and Laura; her sister, Joan; her husband, Robert; and her son, Jerry.

She is survived by her brother and sister, Calvin Jr. and Donna; her three children, Debra, Vivian and Jessie; her 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
