Barbara was born June 27, 1953 in Fort Campbell, Kentucky to the late Charles and Rosemary Haney. She worked hard and graduated from the University of Alabama Huntsville with her degree in Education. Later she earned her Master's degree in Education from Troy University and was certified in a number of specialized programs.

Barbara was a brilliant, compassionate, humble and happy person who impacted countless lives through her work as a teacher, program director at Charter Medical and Chief Operating Officer at Pathway, Inc. inpatient adolescent center.
