Nancy had worked as a short order cook for D & J Restaurant and the Chicken Shack. She enjoyed spending her leisure time playing bingo, yearly Christmas trips with her sisters and nieces, vacationing in Myrtle Beech and caring for her beloved poodles.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Mike; a son, Jerry VanNote (wife, Darla) of Winchester, IN; a brother, Jimmy Rutledge (wife, Evelyn) of Farmland, IN; grandchildren, Shawn Urick (Dustin), Rocky VanNote (Mandy), Adam VanNote (Erica), Nicole Tam (Matt) and Tosha VanNote (Chris Fischer); a brother-in-law, David Nelson (wife, Theresa) fourteen great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Tony VanNote; brothers, Oshel, Andy and Richard; and sisters, Runa Mae Turner, Nettie Sheldon, Judith Davis and Betty "Honey Doll" Ferrell.
A service to celebrate Nancy's life will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 30, 2021 at Wilson Shook Funeral Home, Thornburg Memorial Chapel of Parker City, IN. Burial will follow in Lawndale Cemetery of Ridgeville, IN. Family and friends may gather to share and remember from 11:00 a.m. to service time, at the funeral home.
