Gladys Mae Black, age 95, of York, NE died Monday, August 23, 2021 at York. She was born March 15, 1926 in Grand Island, NE to Calvin and Cora (Pugh) Howard. Gladys is a graduate of Grand Island High School. On July 10, 1949, she was united in marriage to Robert Ervin Black in Grand Island. This union was blessed with three children.

Gladys enjoyed playing bingo, cards and tending her flower garden. Most of all, she will be known as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her sons Bobby (Jan) Black of Denton, TX and Ronald (Ida) Black of York; grandchildren Shannon (Corey) Winten, Tonya (Sean) Wagner, Sheli (Charlie) Wilson, Robb (Susan) Black, Shane (Robyn) Duncan, and Andrea (Steve) Hearn. She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter and son-in-law Doreen (Don) Duncan, grandson Adam, brothers Cecil, Mickey and Roy.
