Paul Stewart, age 72, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Monday, (August 23, 2021) at his residence.



He was born on October 21, 1948 in Edmonson County, KY, the son of the late Wilbur Ray and Ruby White Stewart.



He was a retired Deputy Jailer at the Grayson County Detention Center and roofer, He enjoyed western movies, working on lawn mowers and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam era. He attended Sunny Point church.



He is survived by his wife, Janet Thomas Stewart, his son, Troy Stewart (Billy Sue); two daughters, Tammy Whobrey (Eddie), and Angie Pilkenton (Jimmy); three grandchildren, Jamie and Timmy Pilkenton, and Lori Mattingly; one great-grandchild, Riley Mae Mattingly; one brother, Eddie Stewart; four sisters, Frances Meredith, Lucille Ray, Betty Jean McKinney, and Evelyn Stewart. Several nieces and nephews also survive, and a special thank you to a nephew Trevor Ray.



Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers Charles Ray, Harvey, Albert, Harold Glen and Donnie Stewart; four sisters, Noretta Kiper, Hazel Farris, Mary Meredith, and Gloria Stewart; one nephew Jonathon McKinney and two nieces; Melissa Stinson and Sharon Stewart.



Cremation was chosen with a memorial service to be announced at a later date.
