Jesse Young, age 59 of River, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center in Paintsville.
Born February 11, 1962 in Sandusky, Ohio, he was the son of the late Monroe Young and Garnett (Maynard) Young. In addition to his parents, Jesse is preceded in death by two sons, Matthew Young and Justin Young. He is survived by his wife, Lisa (Robertson) Young; one daughter, Jessi and Jason Cooper of Tazwell, Tennessee; Justin Damron, and his wife Cheryl, who was like a son; daughter in law, Novella Young; two brothers, John and Sonja Young of Norwalk, Ohio and Jeff and Carrie Young of Peru, Indiana; two sisters, Dera Shuler of Peru, Indiana and Kim Gruesbeck of Muncie, Indiana; and nine grandchildren, Austin, Madison, Alyssa, Isaac, Abby, Chloe, Xander, Remington and Gideon "Tater".
Funeral services will be held 10:00am Thursday, August 26, 2021 in the chapel of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Robertson Family Cemetery at Ft. Gay, West Virginia. Friends may visit the Phelps & Son Funeral Home from 5:00pm to 9:00pm Wednesday and prior to the service on Thursday. Arrangements are under the direction of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home.11
