After reaching adulthood, marrying, and relocating to Kemper County, MS, she joined Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church in Preston, MS where she was very active in the Youth Ministry respectfully. During early childhood, she joined New Chapel Baptist Church in Shuqualak, MS.

Remembering her is easy because she was full of love and joy! She married Jimmy "Check" Coleman, the son of Herman Coleman and Mary Dale Rush Coleman, who is a native of Preston, Kemper County, MS. Two children, one son and one daughter, were born to their union. She was employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at the Kemper County Nursing Home in DeKalb, MS for many years until her health failed.

In the presence of God is now where Marie resides. At the age of 59, she exited her earthly life on Monday, August 23, 2021 at the Bedford Care Center in Marion, Lauderdale County, MS.
