Charles W. "Hawk" Hawkins, 86, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away, Sunday, August 22, 2021, at Doey's House. Born Saturday, December 22, 1934 in Culpepper, VA, he was the son of the late George Wesley Hawkins and the late Mittie Mae (Scott) Hawkins. He was a member of Beaver Creek Country Club, where he was a very good golfer, consistently shooting scores below his age for years. Hawk also loved sports, playing fast pitch softball, shuffleboard and bowling and excelled at shooting pool. He also enjoyed horse racing. He was of the Protestant faith. He is survived by his five daughters, 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Beverly Mae Hawkins; and 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Graveside services will be held Thursday, August 26, 2021, at 1:00 pm, at the Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, 17636 West Washington Street Hagerstown, MD, with the Pastor Jeff Ehko officiating. Family will receive friends at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, MD, Wednesday, August 25, 2021, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
