CONROE, Texas - Light, love, and laughter are what Rebecca Ann Wilson will be remembered for. She spent her life growing and tending her family like the expert gardener she was. She had a knack for making others feel like they had always been part of her family tree regardless of when they were planted in her life.

The youngest of twelve children, Rebecca was born December 24, 1957 in Terre Haute, Indiana to loving parents, Robert and Lillian Switzer. Her parents and siblings, James, Earl, Marie, Carl, and Jack Switzer, welcomed her home to heaven August 17th, 2021 in Conroe, Texas.

She is survived by Harry (Nandy) Switzer, Paul (Paula) Switzer, Mary Montgomery, Betty Patterson, Danny (Frieda) Switzer, and scores of loving nieces and nephews.
She loved her family dearly and always brought hugs, laughter, and chicken and dumplings to every family gathering.

She had a beloved church family growing up as well. Her faith and love of music were fostered there. Rebecca taught herself to play the piano by ear and had fond memories of singing and playing the piano with loved ones during church services.

Rebecca added another branch to her family when she married her childhood sweetheart and best friend of 46 years, William F. Wilson, Jr., June 8, 1975. Their family and capacity for love grew with the birth of each of their three children, Bill (Annie) Wilson III, Angela (Derek) Rusin, and Carrie (Michael) Page; and six grandchildren. She taught her family to be kind in word and deed, to push past your comfort zone to experience all that life has to offer (even though it gave her anxiety), and to find joy in the little things that make up life, making cookies, catching fireflies while camping, and watching movies together. Her six grandchildren were her pride and joy and will forever be grateful for the memories of Sunday morning French toast, board games, and impromptu tea parties.

She added more branches to her family with co-workers and neighbors. She loved working at both the AP&S Clinic in Terre Haute and Sterling Ridge Orthopedics in the Woodlands, and a variety of nursing homes.

Not only did she support her friends and co-workers, she also became a fierce advocate for each and every patient that came across her desk. Rebecca had a gift for truly reaching people in a deep and positive way leaving a lasting impression on every person blessed to meet her. If you are lucky, you may even have one of the beautiful quilts that she poured so much love and attention into.

We take comfort in knowing that she is in heaven with a smile, a cobbler, and a warm quilt reminding us that she can't wait to hug us again in person. Family, friends, and others whose lives have been blessed by Rebecca are invited to join us in a celebration of life that will be held at a later date.
