Harry W. Lester, 67, of Franklin Township, died on Tuesday, October 4, 1983, in Barberton Citizens Hospital after a lengthy illness.

Born in Massillon, Ohio, he was a retired bricklayer for the Ruhlin Construction Co. The U.S. Army veteran served in World War II and was a member of the American Legion Paul Harget Post 739, where he was a post commander. He was a member of the Bricklayers Local #7 for 25 years, the Coventry Lodge #665 F&AM and A.A.R.P.

He leaves his wife, Ruth Hardesty Lester, whom he married on ; three daughters, Mrs. Joe (Joan 'Joanne') Stover of Canal Fulton, Janet Starcher of Plantation, FL and Mrs. Robert (Beth) Underation of Barberton; a brother, Carl of Manchester; a sister, Evelyn Brown of Akron; plus two grandsons. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jerald Lester in 1961 in California; and brother, Kenneth Lester in 1976.

Funeral in Schermesser Funeral Home Suburban South Chapel on Thursday at 2 p.m. with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
