Clarence Marion Dettweiler, age 94 of South Okla. City, passed away Friday, August 20, 2021. He was born August 7, 1927 in Borger, TX to Clarence and Lillie Dettweiler. One of 13 children, Clarence learned at a very early age, the value of hard work, and helped in many ways to support his family. He worked for the City of Oklahoma City for nearly 20 years, retiring as a Unit Manager. He later married Eunice Duke, and they welcomed five children, Joyce, Clarence, Bettie, Margaret and Sherrie. Clarence's heart was always back home on the farm, and he looked forward to everyday on it. And whether it was building fence or cutting hay, he was up for the challenge. He loved anything and everything with horses, and saddled up any chance he could. In 1999, Clarence married Lula Mae Scott and they enjoyed the simplicity of country life. He loved old classic country and gospel, and enjoyed an extensive variety of cd's. He was a gifted and self-taught musician, who played the banjo, the dulcimer and harmonica. He enjoyed fishing and especially trout fishing, and shared this love with his family and friends. Clarence was a cherished father and grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and a true friend. He will be dearly missed!
