ARLINGTON – Joan Marilyn Ryan., 83, passed away Thursday, December 3, 2020 in Arlington.

Service: A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Saint Peter and Saint Paul Angelican Church, 3900 Morris Lane, Arlington, Texas 76016, with internment at the church immediately following the service.

Joan was born June 9, 1937. She was a long time American Airlines employee who initially worked as a flight attendant and retired while working as part of their operations team. After her retirement from American Airlines, she began work at the University of Texas-Arlington in their Registrar's office. Upon retirement from UTA, she and her husband, Harry Ryan, both decided to finish their college degrees. She graduated from UTA with a degree in Anthropology – she and Harry both had a love for history. Joan was dearly loved member of the Episcopal Church of Saint Peter and Paul and served on their Alter Guild for decades. Joan also enjoyed traveling, gardening and the company of her loyal and faithful cocker spaniel companions. Joan was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 17 years, Harry Ryan, Jr., as well as her brother, Jeffrey Vito.

Survivors:; sisters, Carol K. and Nancy V.; and nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Joan's name to Saint Peter and Saint Paul Angelican Church, to any cancer research program, or to your local ASCPA.
