Jessie Lee Nelson, 87, of Jacksonville, Arkansas departed this life on Thursday, August 19, 2021 in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was born February 26, 1934 in Washington, Arkansas to Joseph and Willie Mae Golston Briggs. She was one of thirteen siblings.

She was united in Holy Matrimony to Bornes B. Nelson, Sr. on June 17, 1951 and to this union eleven children were born.

She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age at Rock Hill Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Elder Albert Poe, College Station, Arkansas. In 1975, she later served under the leadership of her late husband, Rev. Bornes B. Nelson, Sr., until his health failed in November 1995. She then served under the leadership of her son, Pastor, Victor W. Nelson, until her Heavenly Father called her home from labor to rest for a job well done.

She worked at Holiday Inn as a supervisor in housekeeping for twenty-five plus years and then later joined Memorial Baptist Hospital in North Little Rock, Arkansas for thirty-two years as Labor and Delivery Scrub Tech. She was a caregiver all of her life, making sure everyone was cared for. She touched the life of evryone she came in contact with and was a loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be truly missed.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents; husband; sons, Larry Nelson and Jerry Nelson; one grandson; one great-grandson; and one great-granddaughter; brothers, Eric Briggs and Rev. Star Jr. (Vernis); and sisters, Louise, Josephine and Hazel.

Survivors: children, Ella, Catha, Alvin, Gregory (Florence), Rickey (Cheryl), Victor, Bornes B. Jr. (Dorothy), Darren (Nicole), Joseph (Tameka); son-in-law, Terry Todd, Sr.; god-son, Mark (Tela); sisters, Helen Jones, Theretha Jackson, Liz Comic (Philip), Merlene Smith (Johnny), Maurice Briggs; and a host of grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Greater Faith Temple Full Gospel Deliverance Center, 1920 Broadway Street, Little Rock, Arkansas. Visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M., Friday, August 27, 2021 at the funeral home. Interment Rest in Peace Memorial Gardens in Hensley, Arkansas.
