Mrs. Anne Shearouse Smith, age 87, of Dublin, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, August 23, 2021, surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Smith was born in Edison, Georgia, on May 28, 1934, to the late Henry Grady Shearouse and the late Byrdice Askew Shearouse. She was a successful caterer and owner and operator of Bellevue Cottage prior to retiring. Mrs. Anne enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dublin. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, T.J. Smith, III; brother, Henry Grady Shearouse, and sister, Jane Metts.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Jeff Smith IV (Rhonda), of Statesboro, Cile Best (Phil), of Dublin, Laura Green (Frank), of Macon, and Meda Hester (Minton), of Dublin; grandchildren, Jeff Smith V, Phil Best Jr. (Daphne), George Best (Kristen), Whitley Denney (Brett), Shelley Jakiel (Andrew), Dean Hester (Vanessa), Alex Hester (Erin); great-grandchildren, Beau Best, Norah Best, Meri Layne Best, Polly Denney, Andy Hester, and Anagail Hester; sister, Byrdice Shearouse Wiley, and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 26, 2021, at Oak Grove Cemetery, in McRae. Rev. Jimbo Dominy will officiate.

The family will receive friends at the home of Meda and Minton Hester.
