Funeral services for Mr. Reginald Hall 66, of 2600 Taylor Road Cayce, South Carolina will be held on Friday July 2, 2021 at 10:00 am in the Trinity Baptist Church 2003 Charleston Highway Cayce, South Carolina, with the burial to follow in the Ft. Jackson National Cemetery 4170 Percival Road Columbia, South Carolina. There will be a viewing on Thursday from 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm and the family will be receiving friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Pearson's Funeral Home 4508 N. Main Street Columbia, South Carolina. Mr. Hall will be placed in Trinity Baptist Church one hour before services on Friday. Reginald "Reggie" Hall presence ended here on earth Sunday, June 27, 2021. But memories of him will live in hearts of those who knew and loved him. Reggie was the son of the late Walter R. Hall, Sr., and Lula Dickens Hall. He was born on March 21, 1955, and raised in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jacqueline Hall. He joined the army in March of 1975, and took basic training at Ft. Ord Califorina. AIT at Ft. Rucker Alabama for (Military Occupational Specialty) of 67N-Aircraft Repairman. He was stationed with the 193rd Infantry Brigade in the Panama Canal Zone as a helicopter crew chief. After this assignment he was stationed at Ft. Jackson with a Medivac unit, but reported to duty at the Doolittle Airfield (now Columbia Metro Airport) to a MAST unit (Military Assistance to Safety and Traffic. His unit was attached to the 3rd Battalion 75th Ranger Regiment at camp Merrill, GA, and he served as Crew Chief/EMT. His unit also responded to emergency calls for assistance to Fire/EMS and Law Enforcement. After completing his Army service, Reggie stayed in SC worked with Lexington County EMS as an EMT. He met Judy in 1982, at the Cayce Fire Department/EMS Sub-station. They were married in January, 1984. He received his Paramedic Certification in 1984. and over the years a huge number of other certifications, including scuba diving and his co-pilot license. He was the owner of Carolina Chimney Sweeps from 1984-2016. He worked with various EMS and private services over 28 years.He received his Basic firefighter with Cayce Dept. of Public Safety. On his days off he worked at the American Red Cross as a phlebotomist. Once after recertifying his CPR/First Aid certification, he had a thought, "Why take the class, when I can teach the class." He became a CPR/Advanced Cardiac Life Support & First Aid Instructor. He retired from the Red Cross in 2010. In 2011 , he joined the City of West Columbia Police Department. September 2012, he accepted a part-time position with Homeland Security/FEMA as Disaster Specialist. Reggie always had a desire to help others. He became a disable American Veterans Representative to assists disable veterans with filing claims to receive medical benefits and monthly compensation. While visiting the Doolittle Hanger at the Airport one day he came upon the celebration Freedom Foundation/STEM Education Center. He became a volunteer and had the chance to do what he loved best, flying, and working on helicopter was right at home. He became part of the helicopter maintenance team and a STEM Education Outreach Program Instructor. The team at celebration Freedom stated "Reggie" brings a wealth of knowledge and a great enthusiasm with him every time he is involved in any of our activities. "Reggie" wore many hats, and over the years his friends referred to him as Medic, Paramedic, Chimney Sweep, professor, and he was simply called "Papa" by his grandkids. He was a member of the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church where served as an Usher, and on the Health Care Ministry. After retiring, maintaining his lawn became his priority. In addition to his loving wife Judy of thirty-seven years, he is survived by two sons, Eric, and Jonathan (Amy), Goddaughter, Rena Richardson of Columbia, brother Walter R. Hall, Jr., sister, Debra Hammons and brother-in-law David Hammons, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, one daughter-in-law Uwakie Young of Deltona, Florida, brother-in-law Bobby West, Marion Edmond and Darnell Jones, one sister-in-law Tammy Prescott. Two aunts Sue Richardson (Henry), Ruby (George) Summers, eight grandchildren Eric Jr., Audriana, Christian, Hope Kierra, Timia, Christina and Tanasia West of Cayce, nephews, Richard Goodin, Houston, Texas, Andre, David and Angelo Hall, Oklahoma City, and Karl West Jr., of West Columbia, and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
