Charles "Bill" W. Brumley, Jr., 73, of Okeechobee, FL passed away Saturday, August 21, 2021, at Raulerson Hospital in Okeechobee.

Bill was born in Vero Beach, FL to the late Charles W. and Frieda McCullers Brumley, Sr.. He was a graduate of Vero Beach High School, Class of 1966 and after graduation he entered the US Army, serving in the 82nd Airborne during the Vietnam War. Bill was honored and proud to serve his country.

Following his time in the Army, Bill worked for 12 years in law enforcement before moving to Okeechobee 30 years ago. It was there that he worked and managed the family ranch until his retirement.

He never lost his passion for cows and horses. Bill always enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.

Bill was a man of God and an Ordained Minister of the Primitive Baptist Church.

Survivors include his son Shane Brumley, and his fiance Melissa of Okeechobee, grandchildren Jessie (Stephen) Leach, Cheyenne Driggers, and Justin Edwards, great-grandsons Stephen J Leach, Jr. and Braxton James Saunders, and a whole passel of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years Carolyn Blair Brumley and his parents, and a great-grandson Elliot William Leach.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Okeechobee, 411 SE 4th St, Okeechobee, FL 34974.

The family will receive friends 3-4 PM, Saturday, August 28, 2021, at the Strunk Funeral Home in Vero Beach with a funeral service celebrating his life beginning at 4 PM. Interment will follow at Winter Beach Cemetery.
