Sandra "Sandy" Sue Combs, 76, of Greenville passed away August 18, 2021 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family. A memorial service will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the Creekside Church of Christ with Jim Hodo, Mark Wilhelm, Gary Pendergrass and Steve Pryce officiating. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church.

Services are under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.

Sandy was born December 22, 1944, in Campbell to Ides and Nina Mae Green. She married Ronald "Ronnie" Combs on June 7, 1963, in Greenville. They shared over 58 years of their lives together with a love that was unconditional and unwavering.

Sandy worked as a cost analysist at Raytheon for 32 years and retired from there in 2000. She was an avid member of Creekside Church of Christ.

She was so courageous in her battle with breast cancer and fought it with everything she had. She did so with such grace and endurance. She may have been small, but she was mighty. Even though she was struggling with her own health issues, she always made sure her family and friends were taken care of and always reassured them of just how much they meant to her and how much she loved and appreciated them.

Sandy was such an adoring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a true Christian lady and loved her church family. She was the definition of a "beautiful lady" inside and out. You are irreplaceable and will forever be missed. We love you, always…

Sandy is survived by her husband, Ronnie Combs and daughter, Tamra Burton; granddaughters, Elizabeth Tooker and husband, Brandon; and Logan Burton; grandson, Audis Burton; son-in-law, Jay Attison – all of Greenville; her sisters, Shirley VanSickle, Sharlynn Rollo, Margaret Denton and brother-in-law Roger; brother, Steve Green and sister-in-law Patricia – all of Campbell; brother, Randy Green and sister-in-law Becky of Round Rock; sister-in-law, Carolyn McGee and husband, Larry of Greenville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Tasha Attison and infant grandson, Andrew James Attison.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made in her honor to the Creekside Church of Christ, 6113 Jack Finney Blvd, Greenville, 75402.
