Mark Anthony (Tony) Edwards was born April 4, 1954 to Thomas Harlin Edwards and Sarah Louise (Griggs) Edwards of Oney, OK. Tony passed away Sunday August 15, 2021, at the age of 67 at The Plaza of Richardson Facility in Richardson, TX under the care of Traditions Hospice. Tony graduated from Oney High School in 1972 and attended Vo-Tech where he learned Auto Mechanics. He was proud to be an Oney Owl and treasured growing up in Oney Oklahoma. After High School he drove an Oney School Bus and worked with his dad before moving to El Reno where he worked at the Chevrolet Dealership. Tony married Cathy Davis in 1974 and they had three children, Mark, Shauna and Sharon. While working for Skagg's Grocery Store (now Albertsons) he was transferred to Plano, TX.
Tony later owned and operated Sigel's Liquor Store for several years. He met and married Gigi James April 29, 1995 in Rockwall, TX. Tony then worked for The Icee Company as a salesman for 21 years when he had a work vehicle accident and was severely injured with Traumatic Brain Injury.
Tony was a family man who loved taking care of his family and helping others. You never saw him without a smile on his face and he never judged anyone. He was a faithful Christian member of the First United Methodist Church in Rowlett, TX. Tony loved hunting, fishing and taking care of all his animal's: Dogs, Jerusalem Donkeys and Brauma Sheep. Tony never met a stranger!
Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Harlin and Sarah Edwards; daughter, Shauna Kay Edwards; two brothers, Timmy and Steve Edwards; father-in-law, George F. James; grandparents, Drew and Olive Edwards and Jack and Ola Elizabeth Griggs; and aunts, Johnny Faye Hargett, Jane Bounds, and Ruth Gordan.
Tony is survived by his wife, Gigi Edwards of Melissa, TX; four children, Mark Edwards and wife Bridget of Bentonville, AR; Sharon Edwards of Wylie, TX; Jeff Richardson Jr. and wife Rachel of Kansas City, MO; Jennifer Wedge and husband Brian of Melissa, TX; siblings, Tom Edwards of Bakersfield, CA; Terry Edwards of Tahlequah, OK; Tracy Edwards and wife Lori of Oklahoma City, OK; ten grandchildren, LaShauna, Ian, Andrew, Dylan, Aaron, Ella, Noah, Layla, Luke, Austin, Alex, Cooper, and Blakely Laine; and one great-grandchild, Finley
Tony is also survived by his mother-in-law, Lois E. James of McKinney, TX; sisters-in-law, Deanna Edwards (wife of Steve) of Tahlequah, OK and Marlene Edwards (wife of Timmy) Moose Creek, SC; son-in-law, Christopher Crisp of Rockwall, TX; aunt Barbara Patterson and husband Joe of Colliersville, TN; cousin Jim Shreeve and wife Diana of South Haven, MS; Melva Crisp of Abilene, TX; Sue Miller of McKinney, TX; Jacie Aikin and husband Scott of Coppell, TX; Jim James of Dallas, TX; Tom James and wife Michelle of Nevada, TX; George James II and wife Judy of Prosper, TX; and various cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
