Lola was born to the late Arthur and Edith Johnson on August 27, 1929, in Caroline County, VA.
Later in life, she met and married the late Willie H. Lee Sr., in Bowling Green, VA. After their marriage, they moved and resided in Quantico, VA. and later settled in Triangle, VA. Of this union, two children were born: a loving and caring daughter, Sherrell C. Smith of Dale City, VA, and son, Willie H. Lee, Jr. of Dumfries, VA.
Lola began her employment in Quantico with Peerless and later Catalina Cleaners. She subsequently retired from the Federal government as a dietitian at Quantico Naval Hospital.
Lola joined Star Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in 1970 where she remained a "loving and faithful" servant to the Lord until her transition. There were very few days that went by that she did not reference the Lord's blessings.
Preceded in death by her loving parents, Arthur and Edith Johnson; brothers, Calvin, Arthur Jr., and Mitchell; sister, Estelle, and grandson Robert A. Jr., she leaves to cherish her memories a daughter, Sherrell C. Smith (Robert) and a son, Willie H. Lee, Jr. (Celestine); one sister, Alice Johnson of Goldsboro, N.C.; one sister-in-law, Cynthia Johnson of Hyattsville, MD.; granddaughter(s), Kimberly Frias-Payne (Tim), Colette Brooks, Nicole Smith, Latoya Smith; grandson(s); Matthew Lee (Tiona) and David Harrison (Terra); six great-grandchildren: Donovan, Mikayla, Antonio, Serafina, Waylon, Braelyn, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and among others, a very special friend Ms. Mabel Tuell, with whom she talked with almost daily.
"But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint." Isaiah 40:31
