Stacey Lamarn Brown was born on August 6, 1969, to the late Douglas McCarthy Brown and the late Sarah Lois Brown in Blythewood, South Carolina. He entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, after complications from an existing heart condition at Lexington Medical Center in Lexington, South Carolina.

Stacey was raised in the Blythewood Community and was a graduate of Spring Valley High School. A sports enthusiast, Stacey played football, baseball, and ran track while in high school. He was later recruited and received a full scholarship to play baseball for Anderson College and Tennessee State University. He received his Associate's Degree from Anderson College in Anderson, South Carolina and his Bachelor's and Masters' Degrees in Education from Tennessee State University in Nashville, Tennessee. He taught in the public school systems in Atlanta, GA, Columbia, SC, and Laurens, SC. Stacey had a passion for mentorship and youth advocacy and volunteered his time to encourage other men and women to strive for their best. He often tutored students, provided field trips at no cost, and counseled youth in social skills. His enthusiasm for sports and longtime encouragement with direction from his mentor and family friend, Larry D. Griffin; who helped him to spearhead his career decisions. He pushed Stacey to strive for excellence in his collegiate years of study while excelling in athletics.

Stacey enjoyed attending NHRA Top Fuel Drag Racing and often went to numerous live sporting events.

Stacey leaves to mourn his passing his two brothers, Douglas Jerome (Barbara) Brown and Barry Keith (Stacey) Brown both of Columbia, SC; two sisters, Debra Yvette Brown of Columbia, SC and Vera Elaine (Eddie) McClure of Huntersville, NC; three nieces, Amber, Clara and Sara; five nephews, Barry, Kenneth, Joseph, William and Edmond; seven aunts; one uncle; former wife, Marjorie; and a host of grand nieces, grand nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Additionally, we would like to extend special thanks and recognition to Larry D. Griffin, Leanora "Ball" Griffin, and daughter, Jennipher who assisted with Stacey during his early years after the untimely death of his father; extended family members, Christopher, James, Caleb, and Jordan who Stacey considered his "second family".
