Age 87, died Sunday, May 10, 2020 at Applewood Nursing Center in Woodhaven. She was born April 5, 1933 in Milan, MI to Roland and Libby (Jurik) Early. On October 26, 1957 she married Cornelius F. Derrick and he preceded her in death on December 9, 2007.
A 1951 Milan High School graduate, Peggy attended Mercy School of Nursing of Detroit, Ann Arbor unit graduating in 1954. She worked as a scrub nurse at St. Joseph Hospital in Ann Arbor for three years then became office manager for her husband's medical business in Lincoln Park and Trenton, Michigan.
She is survived by her son Roland, daughter Nicole, four brothers, James (Jean) Early, Richard (Sharon) Early, Neil (Marion) Early, Stephen "Mike" Early and one sister Mary (Phil) Bennett.
A Memorial Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Milan on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at 11:00am with interment following at Marble Park Cemetery, Milan. Contributions may be made to Capuchin Soup Kitchen in Detroit.
