Nancy Helen Watson died on August 15, 2021, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH after a courageous battle with cancer with her family by her side. Nancy was born June 5, 1952 in Saint Johnsbury, VT, one of eleven children, to Percy Ora and Helen Irean (Sherman) Lund.

She was raised on a small farm in Newbury, VT and graduated from Newbury Academy in 1970. Hard work was a personal trait Nancy carried all throughout her life. After graduation she worked at several mills in Bradford, VT.

She married William French in the early seventies, with whom she had her daughter, Carmen.

In 1977, her brother Bucky introduced her to Bob Watson. They soon fell in love, were married on August 12, 1982, bought a home in West Topsham, and soon had two sons Michael and Jason.

Nancy had an entrepreneurial spirit with seemingly endless energy, while their children were young she operated a day care. Once they were older, she was employed at the North Borrow Market in North Thetford, VT where she did a little bit of everything, stocking shelves, cleaning the store, cutting meat, tending the cash register, etc. She drew upon her natural and self-taught artistic abilities and opened Weezie's, a store where she sold her artistic creations to neighbors, tourists, and vendors who would in turn resell the items in other markets. Each November and December, she lovingly created and tied by hand hundreds of beautiful Christmas wreaths to adorn front doors all over New England. By 1995, She and Bob saved enough money to buy their auto repair garage and together operated it for over 25 years.

Nancy was a "no frills, take me as I am" kind of person who approached life with a unique sense of humor. She was sincerely and selflessly devoted to her family, animals, artwork, and her community.

She will be fondly remembered for her incredible work ethic and her unassuming manner, especially during the last few years as she and Bob went through the fight with cancer. When asked how she was doing she always replied, "I'm doing fine." They kept up their routine of daily drives, sometimes all the way to Maine for her favorite meal of fried clams.

She was predeceased by her parents, a brother and two sisters.

Nancy will be dearly missed by her husband, Bob; daughter Carmen Gross and her husband, Dan of Corinth, VT; sons, Michael Watson of Thetford, VT, Jason Watson and his wife, Myrrhanda of Thetford; eight grand children; the guys at the shop, a brother; six sisters; many nieces and nephews; other relatives, many friends; and her pets Jillie, Charlie and Hissyfit.

At her wish, Nancy will be cremated and a private service will be held at the convenience of the family. A Celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
