Lydia "Arinthia" (Wood) (May) Stone was born on February 18, 1912 in Nashville, Tennessee, the daughter of Wilford Hall Wood Sr and Nellie Eliza (Sadler) Wood.

She was married 1st on September 22, 1938 at a Methodist church in Nashville to Charles "Aubrey" May (1904–1964), and he was the son of James Lloyd May (188– ) and Willie (Johnson) May (1885–1962). Arinthia was married 2nd as the 2nd wife of Floyd Carlie Stone (1907–1990), the son of William Carlie Stone (1876–1950) and Evie M (Dodson) Stone (1880–1952).

She joined Belmont United Methodist Church in 1943 and was a member of United Methodist Women, the Couples-Shriver Class and was an active church volunteer. She was also a retired accountant, served as State President of the Credit Women's Breakfast Club and was a member of the Nashville Retail Credit Association. Arinthia held membership in the Altrusa Club, was an active member of the Women's Club of Nashville, a member at Cheekwood and the Fmily and Community Education Club.

One or her passions was creating "Heirloom Balls" and another was needlework, which was the basis for her membership in the Embroidery Guild and the American needlepoint Guild.

Living in Brentwood, Arinthia was 96 years old when she passed away on January 8, 2009 at Nashville's Saint Thomas Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands, sisters Olivia W Tavel, Gwynn L Wood, Doris W Johnson, Audrey P Wood and Neva Jean Wood, brothers Wilford H Wood Jr, Jearol D Wood and Elmo P Wood. Survivors included sisters Virginia C Liberatore of Hendersonville, Tennessee and Julia W Estes of Nashville and many nieces and nephews and their families.

Memorial Services were held on January 12th at Belmont United Methodist Church.
