Keansburg - Harold C. Lovett of Keansburg, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2021 at the Hospice Center at Riverview Medical Center after a brief illness.

Born and raised in Bloomfield he served his country during both WWII (volunteering as a teenager) as well as being called back to serve in Korea. He was a member of many veteran organizations (VFW Post 2179 and American Legion Post 338) as well as other fraternal organizations (Caesarea Lodge #64, and Livingston Lodge #11 F.A.M.)

In 1946 he married the love of his life Kathleen Hoey and had four sons. He worked for General Motors for over thirty years, retiring in 1980 and then worked for over another 30 years for the First United Methodist Church in town.

He was predeceased by his loving wife Kathleen who passed away in 2006. He is survived by his sister in-law Barbara Hoey, his four sons and their wives Christopher (Cherylene) Thomas (Elizabeth), Kevin (Joan) and Andrew (Athena) as well as 9 grandchildren Brian, Jennifer, Laura, Elizabeth, Michael, Matthew, Melissa, Ashleigh, and Nicolas. He was also blessed with 10 great-grandchildren Jacob, Eli, Zach, Ben, Penelope, Clark, Aiden, Colin, Shea, and Jonas along with many loving nieces and nephews.

We would like to commend the nurses and medical personnel who treated our father with dignity and loving care. The family will receive visitors on Friday, June 11 from 4-6 pm at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home 115 Tindall Rd. in Middletown, with a memorial service thereafter.

In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to either St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or a charity of your choice.
