Shirley Ann Unsworth Baker, 84, passed away on August 11, 2021 in Sandy, Utah. She was born on October 3, 1936 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Ruhal Grant and Margaret Jones Unsworth. She graduated from Cyprus High School and received her nursing degree. Shirley married Richard Earl Baker on April 13, 1956 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Shirley loved movies, reading, singing and was an excellent piano player. She enjoyed shopping with her daughters, eating out with her sisters.
Shirley is survived by her children: Cathy (Brian) Blagg, Karen (Bruce) Hardle, Evan Baker, Greg (Kimberly) Baker, Valerie (Jim) Lemmon; siblings: Joyce Bergeson, Peggy Keele, Wayne Unsworth, Helen Dippo, Jeanne Harris, Lynne Peterson, Lloyd Williams, Judy Haber, LaRue Gilmore, Lorraine Bean, Ruel Unsworth; 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Jones, father, Ruhal Grant Unsworth, step-mother, Donnette Unsworth.
Funeral services for Shirley will be held on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South in West Valley City, Utah, where friends may visit with the family on Monday evening from 6-7pm and again on Tuesday one hour prior to the service. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.
