"Ginny" Mason Taylor, 80, died Monday, May 28, 2007, in Boca Raton, Fla. Born Mary Virginia, to Holland and Ruth McCain Lecky in Sharpe, Ky. She was preceded in death by: her first husband, James T. Mason, Sr. of Paint Lick, Ky., and her second husband, Joe F. Taylor of Richmond, Ky. She is survived by: her son, James T. (Lavonia) Mason, Jr., of Aiken, S.C.; daughter, Margaret Ruth (Richard) Engelhardt of Boca Raton, Fla.; four grandchildren, James Mason, III, of Augusta, Ga., Marilyn Wreath Mason of Aiken, S.C., Nancy Engelhardt of Arlington, Va., Jen Engelhardt of Tampa, Fla.; three sisters, Jeanelle (Charles) Baker of Berea, Ohio; Anna Faye (Reggie) Dickson of Battle Creek, Mich.; Nancy (John) Chascsa of Wyandotte, Mich.; and one brother, Samuel (Virgie) Lecky of Minooka, Ill. Although she had resided in Boca Raton, Fla., with her daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and Richard, for the past four years, she spent the majority of her life in Madison County: first as a nursing student at Berea College, an R.N. at Pattie A. Clay Regional Medical Center, and later as a farmer and wife. As a member of the Fort Boonesborough NSDAR chapter, Society of Boonesborough, and Garrard County Historical Society, she valued history and family. A memorial service will be conducted at the Old Paint Lick Presbyterian Church at Manse (Hwy. 52, three miles west of Paint Lick, Ky.) on Tuesday, July 10, 2007, at 3 p.m. Interment will be in Richmond Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested for the Old Paint Lick Presbyterian Church or to Hospice (By the Sea, Boca Raton, Fla., or your local Hospice Care Center).
