On August 26th, Mr. Emmett West, aged 71 years, answered his master's call. He passed away at 11:25 p.m. at the home of his son Leslie West. He is survived by five daughters, four sons and twenty one grandchildren . The funeral took place in Carpenter's Chapel Cemetery, Hobart, La. Rev. McQueen rendering a touching sermon.
He was loved by all who knew him. Always spoken of as one of the best men that ever lived. He had a quiet disposition. He will be missed by all who knew him.
