Roy Palmer Robertson, Jr., age 71, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at his home in Spotsylvania, VA after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. He passed away at home, with his loving and devoted wife of 30 years, Linda B. Robertson, by his side. Roy was born on December 20, 1949, in Alexandria, Virginia to the late Roy and June Robertson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a niece, nephew, and numerous aunts and uncles.
Roy, who was also affectionately known as Huck or Rabbit, was a proud lifelong resident of Virginia and retired from Fairfax County Water Authority after 28 years of service. He had a love for boating, fishing and hunting, and you could find him spending his leisure time on the Potomac or Chesapeake Bay. He also enjoyed traveling to Florida during the winter. He was an avid card player and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He cared deeply about his family and always lent a helping hand to those he loved.
Roy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Roy is survived by his wife, Linda; his son, Roy L. Robertson; his daughter, Rebecca L. Sward; his sisters, Sue Baggett and Michele Owens; and his five grandchildren.
A viewing will be held from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Monday, August 23, 2021 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Rd, Fredericksburg, VA 22407. A funeral service will begin at 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, 3702 Loren Drive, Fredericksburg, VA 22408.
