Brian K. Spencer, 61, of Whitehouse, passed away August 17, 2021 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio surrounded by his loving family. Brian was born May 20, 1960 in South Bend, IN to Keith and Donna (Davies) Spencer.

He grew up in Jackson, MI and got his first job working as a paperboy for the Jackson Citizen Patriot. Brian played baseball in elementary school. He was in the symphony and marching band where he played the trombone at Northwest High School. One of his favorite memories in the marching band was the opportunity to travel to Spain, where his mother was a chaperone. Brian enjoyed the Boy Scouts where he traveled to the Philmont Boy Scout Camp in the New Mexico Rockies, where he and his brothers' hiked 10-15 miles a day for a week carrying all their gear, enjoying adventure stops along the way. He concluded his involvement with the Boy Scouts earning him the highest honor of Eagle Scout in 1976. After Brian graduated from high school, as salutatorian, in 1978, he continued his education at Jackson Community College earning his Associate's in Science Degree in April 1980. Brian then attended the University of Michigan where he graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering on December 20, 1982.

Upon graduation he spent his career at the SSOE Group where he held various positions and titles, including earning the designation of "PE", Professional Engineer License, Project Manager, Department Manager, retiring as Principal Project Director, Vice President over his 30 years. During his time as the SSOE Group he traveled the world, although his favorite destination was the UK where he enjoyed the conversations with the local bed and breakfast innkeepers, historic architectural design, beautiful landscape and culture.

Brian's most treasured job of all was being a devoted husband and father. He met and married the love of his life, Brenda Clemons, on July 27, 2001 and together they raised two beautiful daughters. Brian cherished the time spent at the regatta's and softball fields' watching his daughters and their teammates, where he became friends with many of the teams parents. Brian shared his love of the Michigan Wolverines with his daughters, taking them to many games, and teaching them the art of tailgating. He attended many dance recitals, junior cheer, Girl Scout events, and coached junior Generals soccer and basketball. When Brian was working in Germany, he missed his girls and wanted to stay connected. He would spend evenings on the phone reading the adventures of Harry Potter to his daughters while they cuddled with their favorite stuffy dressed in daddy's shirt laying in his spot next to mommy.

Brenda and the girls will forever cherish the memories of many family vacations including, several trips to Disney, the Smokey Mountains where Brian helped the girls earn their Junior Ranger Badges while hunting for salamanders, Lake Leelanau to visit Grandma D and enjoyed trips to the sand dunes, canoeing, rafting, and strolling through the quant little towns. Brian enjoyed trips to Missouri with the softball family and friends where they were able to tour the St. Louis Arch, visited the Busch Stadium, boating on Table Rock Lake, watching his daughters cliff jump, and happily watched numerous horrible movies that his wife picked.

The last year was truly a gift and through that time Brian was able to spend precious time together with family, extended family, and friends sharing laughs, tears, memories, and milestones such as his mom's 80th birthday, Meredith's graduation celebration, sending off the AW Generals Girls Varsity Softball Team going to states, long naps shared with his brother Joe, a special visit from his brother Tim and his family, treasured home projects completed by Dann, and quiet conversations that will forever be treasured.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 19 years, Brenda Spencer; daughters, Meredith and Samantha Spencer; mother, Donna Spencer; siblings, Joe (Carla) Spencer, Dann (Stefvin) Spencer, Tim (Roxanne) Spencer; many nieces and nephews; many dear friends; and Mazie the Golden Doodle.
