Ashley Shakeela Butler, a resident of Dothan, passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at a local hospital. She was 36 years old.
Graveside services will be held jointly with her mother, who also passed away on August 9, 2021, Carlette Butler, at 2 pm on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 in Sunset Memorial Park with Pastor Katherine Newman officiating. The family will receive friends in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday from 1-2 pm.
Ashley was born on March 30, 1985 to Cedric Butler and Carlette Butler. She had a big heart; she loved to smile and laugh. Spending time with her family and friends was of the utmost importance to her, Ashley's sisters were her best friends. She enjoyed going out to eat and traveling. Ashley traveled the world, she visited Africa and numerous other wonderful places. She just went to Africa to visit Michael in April of this year. Ashley was known for her great fashion sense; she loved her makeup and clothes.
Ashley was preceded in death by her mother, Carlette Butler and by her grandparents, Jack and Lola Powell.
She leaves to cherish her memories her father, Cedric (Bridgette) Butler; her brother, Eric Moss; her sisters, Vakeela (Adrian) Brown and Aaliyah Butler; her niece and nephew, Gabby and Tyler Brown; the love of her life, Michael Okun; and a host of aunts, uncles, and friends.
